The removal of face masks of Abu Dhabi is just one of the precautionary measures to be relaxed.
You will no longer have to wear your face mask outdoors in Abu Dhabi it has been announced.
Effective from today (Saturday 26 February), the measure approved by The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee (NCEMA) sees the wearing of face masks in outdoor spaces as now optional, however, you will still need to wear your face mask indoors.
But it is not the only reduced precautionary measures approved by the committee with the requirement to wear a wristband for new COVID-19 cases during home quarantine and quarantine for those in close contact with COVID-19 cases removed. Those in contact with a confirmed coronavirus case will have to conduct daily PCR tests for consecutive days.
Tourist destinations and commercial premises will see capacities increased to 90 per cent but you will still have to present a green pass on your Al Hosn app.
Events will also see there operating capacities increased to 90 per cent but a PCR test as well as green pass on the Al Hosn app is needed for entry.
In terms of travel, the Abu Dhabi green list is no more as well as the removal of PCR testing requirements related to the listed countries and the removal of quarantine for all international arrivals.
The new developments follow the announcement that the border into Abu Dhabi will cease to be in operation.
You will no longer need to present a green pass or undergo an EDE scan when crossing into the emirate.
