The Omicron variant has been found in the UAE.
You will now need to take a Covid-19 PCR test every two weeks to enter any business premise in Abu Dhabi after the new measure announced by The Ministry of Health and Prevention on green pass validity (MoHAP) comes into effect today (5 December).
The Al Hosn app’s green pass will only be valid for 14 days on the receipt of a negative PCR test result instead of the previous 30-day period.

The decision from MoHAP came last week after the discovery of the new Omicron variant in southern Africa which has now been found in the UAE.
The UAE has made several travel and coronavirus updates in recent weeks which has seen a travel ban enforced on all passengers originating from or transiting through Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Authorities have also given the green light for those who have been previously double-jabbed with Pfizer-BioNTech or Sputnik V to receive a booster dose.
