Animal pop-ups, movie-nights and relaxing picnics on the lush, green grass; Umm Al Emarat Park is not short of interesting things to check out and to do.
And today (17 February) one of Abu Dhabi’s favourite parks is adding another string to its bow with the opening of a very cool exhibition.
Running until 10 March, the Arab Legacy in Spain exhibition will shed a light on the impact of Arab heritage on Spanish culture and architecture.
You will have a chance to discover some of the most impressive landmarks in Spain that were influenced by eight centuries of Arab presence, telling the story of shared heritage and history.
A collaboration with Turespaña, the Spanish Tourism Institute, you will also be able to cast an eye on Arab artistic and architectural works.
Speaking on the launch of the exhibition, Rasha Kablawi, Head of Umm Al Emarat Park’s Corporate Affairs and Communication Department said; “We are very excited to collaborate with Turespaña, Spain’s tourism institute, on the Arab Legacy in Spain exhibition that will bring to light the rich history between the Arab world and Spain.
“This exhibition is just one of the many partnerships that Umm Al Emarat Park seeks to activate as Abu Dhabi’s favorite community destination.”
Daniel Rosado-Director of Turespaña echoed the sentiments of Kablawi saying; “We are delighted to collaborate with an iconic partner like Umm Al Emarat Park to create awareness about art, culture, history and architecture of Spain and its ties with Arab culture.
“We hope this helps people to relate between the two countries and urge them to visit Spain to view these historical monuments and experience Spain in person, enjoying its landscapes, gastronomy and way of life.”
