Abu Dhabi’s tennis fans were promised to expect some major names to be served up at this year’s Mubadala World Tennis Championship and they have been delivered an ace from the get go.
Arguably the biggest attraction in the sport at the moment, Britain’s US Open Ladies’ champion Emma Raducanu is the first name to be pencilled in for the three-day tournament taking place this December.

The first qualifier to win a Grand Slam in the Open era, Raducanu will be joined by another leading women tennis star and six of the best from the men’s game as they battle it out at the International Tennis Centre at Zayed Sports City.
CEO of Flash Entertainment, organisers of the tournament, John Lickrish said the announcement speaks volumes about the championship’s quality.
He said: “We have consistently set the bar high year-on-year with our line-up, to the point where fans expect the best.
“The return of the Championship with fans was a milestone moment and we wanted to reward their loyalty with another unrivalled experience.”
The 18-year old’s opponent and the men’s line-up will be revealed over the coming weeks.
Fans looking to get their hands on tickets can do so online at Ticketmaster UAE or Virgin Megastores across the UAE.
All ticketholders above the age 12 must present their green pass on the AL HOSN app on arrival.
Those under 12 must show a negative PCR test result that was taken inside 48 hours to gain entry.
