Validate your COVID-19 documents before you arrive at the airport.
School is out and travelling overseas is back on the agenda, with a raft of countries now on the UAE green list to visit. You will, of course, need to be prepared, including that you arrive with the correct and approved COVID-19 documents on arrival at the airport.
Thankfully Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE based here in the capital, is providing much-needed services to take the stress out of your international travel plans. All you need to do is turn up, buckle up and dream of your final destination as you head to the skies and a holiday to remember.
Travelling overseas from Abu Dhabi means – and quite rightly so – that you are required to produce COVID-19 travel documents, one that will need to be officially validated.
A mundane task maybe, but one that is absolutely necessary for the safety of you, your family and fellow passengers. The outcome: your and your family’s peace of mind.
The new ‘Verified to Fly’ travel document initiative by Etihad Airways means you will be able to validate your COVID-19 documents before you even arrive at the airport, knowing you have met all the essential requirements before your flight.
Having all those formalities out of the way means you will access fast-track check-in via the dedicated Verified to Fly desk for a far quicker and much smoother experience
Using the Verified to Fly service is really quite simple.
Just log on to the Manage My Bookings (etihad.com/en/manage) website where you will receive information on how to submit your documents. Once this has been checked by the Verified to Fly team, you will receive a ‘success’ email, but only if your documents meet government requirements.
There is more great news for would-be holidaymakers too.
If you live in Abu Dhabi – and why wouldn’t you? – you can now check in your bags, pick your seat and collect your boarding pass and luggage tags from the comfort of your home right here in the emirate, thanks to Etihad Airway’s partnership with DUBZ, powered by dnata, the region’s first specialised off-airport solutions provider.
Home check-in
Not only that, a Covid-19 PCR test can also be arranged through Etihad Airway’s medical partner, LifeDx, who will provide a certified nurse to conduct the test and you will receive your results by email and SMS between 24 to 48 hours.
Again, this service offering is rather uncomplicated to access.
All you need to do is log on to Etihad.com/homecheckin up to seven hours before your flight.
You will then receive a visit from Etihad Airway’s check in agents between the times of 8am to 8pm, depending when you booked the service for.
The agents will then check your travel documents, complete the check in process and collect your bags.
You will also be able to select your seat at the same time and purchase extra luggage allowance should you require it.
There is also an option to board your flight early and receive your luggage through purchasing Priority Boarding and Priority Bag Tags for an additional fee.
You and your family will get to skip the queues at Abu Dhabi International Airport, getting your long-awaited holiday off to a brilliant start!
Just a word of warning, though; your luggage will need to be collected at the baggage belt of your chosen destination.
Among other services offered, you can also request, for a fee, your bags to be disinfected and if you are a passenger living outs of Abu Dhabi, you can also book a home check-in, but for an additional fee.
All in all, the summer break is off to a good start. If you require any further information about the home check-in, visit etihad.com/homecheckin for more information about the home check-in service.
