Every last Friday and Saturday of each month, Louvre Abu Dhabi hosts a Family Weekend that offers a range of activities for families. All activities are free with the museum admission ticket.
The activities in every month are inspired by a different theme. This month, the Family Weekend activities focus on the invention and early stages of photography.
28 – 29 June: PhotoSnap
2pm – 6pm
Join Louvre Abu Dhabi for a weekend of free activities inspired by their current exhibition Photographs 1842 – 1896: An early album of the world.
Explore how people from all around the world embraced the great new invention of photography. Take a mini tour, enjoy a workshop, listen to stories from 19th century photographers, explore the exhibition with an activity booklet and more.

Discover some of the earliest photographs of the world in a fun and interactive mini tour and learn about early photography, its techniques and uses in the 19th century.
Drop-In Family Workshop: Cameraless image making

Experience an antique photographic printing process known as ‘Cyanotype’, which was developed in the mid-19th century to produce photographs, drawings and blueprints on
light sensitive sheets.
