Where to watch the National Day fireworks in Abu Dhabi

It’s nearly time to stand in awe.

National Day is fast approaching and that means one thing in Abu Dhabi; fireworks.

When it comes to sky pyrotechnics, the UAE loves to light up the night’s sky with a vast array of colourful booms.

And with it being the UAE’s 50th anniversary, we are promised an extra special fireworks’ show to remember.

So where can you catch yourself a night of sky theatrics this National Day in Abu Dhabi?

Abu Dhabi Corniche

From Ray’s Bar and the Observation Deck of the Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers to the Azura Panoramic Lounge of St. Regis Abu Dhabi, this iconic location for firework displays provides some lofty vantage points for you to catch the exploding action. But if you prefer to be closer the ground, the long walk of the Corniche is just a good a spot to watch the sky booms. Starts at 9pm on 2 December.

Al Ain

If you are escaping the capital to the Garden City on National Day, you can enjoy a dazzling display from 9pm on 2 December

Al Dhafra

National Day in the desert? Well, we are in the UAE and the nation that we know and love today started from the sands. Al Dhafra will host a fireworks’ show at 9pm on 2 December.

Al Maryah Island

There is only one thing better than a night of fireworks and that is two nights of fireworks. At Al Maryah Island, you can gaze up to the sky on 2 and 3 December from 9pm and be amazed by the kaleidoscopic explosions for National Day. There will also be family-friendly activities in which to get involved including candle and fragrance making and a chance to interact with falcons.

Al Wathba

One of the world’s greatest cultural gatherings is taking place at Al Wathba currently and you can expect a huge special edition showing on their weekly fireworks display on 2 December. Tickets into the Sheikh Zayed Festival are AED 5.

Bawabat Al Sharq Mall

The banging will begin at 8pm on 2 December at Bawabat Al Sharq Mall but before the mega-display, you can be entertained by a National Day Flash Mob at 6pm.

Yas Bay

There will be two celebrations on Yas Bay waterfront this National Day. One will be the cutting of the ribbons of the massive lifestyle and leisure district and the celebration of the UAE’s 50th anniversary. There will also be a host of live entertainment from 5pm before the fireworks start to crack at 9pm from 2 to 4 December.
