UAE now off UK red list, moved to amber

Qatar, India, Bahrain also removed from the list.

The UAE will be removed the UK’s travel red list, the UK government said in a tweet.

The UK has also removed Qatar, India and Bahrain, which comes into effect on Sunday, 8 August.

All three countries will now join the UK’s travel amber list.

The amber list means that those entering the UK now will not have to pay to quarantine for 10 days in a government-listed hotel.

The UK had placed the UAE on the red list back in January of this year and the move from red to amber comes into effect on Sunday 8 August.

The news come after the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) in the UAE recently announced that the United Arab Emirates was to lift a ban on entry to the UAE for passengers from India and Pakistan would also be lifted for those with valid residencies and who are certified by Emirati authorities as fully vaccinated, which comes into effect from today, 5 August.
