The event also revealed that multiple major winner, Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland and world number two Colin Morikawa, were confirmed as the first two mega names to be playing in the capital at the end of January next year.
The 2021 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship was won by Englishman, Tyrrell Hatton, by four shots at the start of the year.
It will be the first time the tournament will be held on the Kyle Phillips designed golf course on Yas Island after spending the previous 16 years at home at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Pencilled in for 20 to 23 Janaury 2022, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is the latest in a line of a-list sporting events to be held on Yas Island including UFC 267, the Harlem Globetrotters and the upcoming FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) and Etihad Airways Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
