New Green Visa to allow parents to sponsor children until age 25

Rolled out as part of the UAE’s Project 50.

A new Green Visa will offer expanded benefits for sponsoring family members. The visa changes are part of the UAE’s Project 50 in line with the 50th anniversary of the UAE’s unification.

The Green Visa is set to allow residents to sponsor their parents, including children up to the age of 25.

Currently, daughters can be sponsored until they are married, but once the green visa comes into effect, this means sons, who could only previously be sponsored until the age of 18, will be able to be sponsored until the age of 25.

The new Green Visa is for those who have their own businesses and is not applicable for residents who are working or sponsored by an employer.

Once the visa expires, there will be a grace period of 90 to 180 days to renew the visa. Currently, that period is 30 days.

Further details are yet to be released. To keep updated with further details on how and when to apply for the green visa, and other updates, watch this space on Yalla – Abu Dhabi Life
