Residents in the capital woke up to gloomy yet welcome skies this morning as thunder and showers swept across the capital.
Instagram was almost instantly filled with delightful images that looked more like London than Abu Dhabi with shimmering pavements, puddles and dark clouds scurrying across a darkened sky.

According to the unofficial’ UAE Weather and Info Facebook group “Isolated heavy showers presently around Abu Dhabi city will move along the coast and may intensify due to convention.”
Thunder and showers Wednesday morning spread across the UAE residents with Abu Dhabi getting its fair share.
In a tweet, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that showers fell across the capital from Khalidiyah to Mushrif.
