The racecourse includes two tracks, camel beauty contests and more.
One of Abu Dhabi’s most famous camel racecourses has just undergone a rebrand.
The storied Sweihan Camel Racecourse in the eastern part of the emirate will now be known as the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Heritage Racecourse.
Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the gesture honours the late Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nayhan, recognising his significant contribution to expanding UAE culture including the development of heritage sites, camel racing and beauty contests.

The name change also pays homage to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nayhan’s efforts to strengthen social cohesion and spread the values of tolerance and mutual cooperation.
The arena includes two camel racecourses, training tracks, an area for camel beauty contests, a local bazaar and two-tiered spectator stands.
There is also a studio, a media centre, administrative offices and a number of private camel breeding farms.
