The emirate’s efforts in tackling the pandemic and maintaining a low case rate has paid off.
Abu Dhabi has ranked first in its proactive approach towards flattening the curve, according to analysis by Deep Knowledge Group (DKG), a London-based analytics consortium.
From the very start, Abu Dhabi has been diligent in its Covid-19 response with strict curfews, regular sanitisation drives, regular testing and now its active vaccination programme.
It has also provide support to research and development into the vaccines, with, according to the UAE News Agency, the UAE being the first country in the world leading the Phase Three trials of an inactivated viral vaccine.
Each city was analysed on 50 parameters and the different cities’ response to sectors such as healthcare, economy and how effectively the cities implemented the necessary protocol.
This included but was not limited to how the city helped Covid-19 patients, monitored home quarantines, made available incentive packages, social support exercised and executed travel guidelines and restrictions, vaccination rates, digital efficiency and support to queries and overall management of the pandemic.
It’s no surprise that Abu Dhabi has been ranked first when you think how the government and authorities have meticulously carried out crisis management strategies.
Other countries that followed Abu Dhabi in the top 25 category were Seoul, Sydney, Singapore, Ottawa and Berlin.
It is not the first time that Abu Dhabi has hit the top spot. Earlier this year it won the accolade of the World’s Safest City, which is just one of many reasons why we love living here!
