Abu Dhabi Mall introduces new Al Hosn app scanners

Green pass is needed to gain entry.

We are now all familiar with the protocols of having to whip out our phone and show our green pass on the Al Hosn app to the security personnel in order to enter a public place in Abu Dhabi.

However, if you are heading to Abu Dhabi Mall, you may find a different procedure in place.

The shopping centre in Al Zahiyah (Tourist Club Area) has introduced special scanners at every entrance which will scan your QR code on the Al Hosn app to determine entry.

Black with gold trim, members of the public simply place their phone over the scanner and it will beep and flash green to allow entrance.

Entry requirements into public places were updated by The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee on 31 October.

To gain entry to a business, entertainment or sporting event, members of the public must present a negative PCR test result taken within 96 hours.

All members of the public must continue to wear masks attending events or public spaces.

The Al Hosn green pass requirement for public spaces came into effect on 19 September 2021.
