A pass is needed to gain access to many businesses in the EU.
Travelling to Europe this Christmas from Abu Dhabi?
Well it’s good news as the UAE has now been connected to the EU’s Digital Covid Certificate system.
The Al Hosn app will now be updated with an EU Pass – similar to the Expo 2020 Dubai pass – which means residents from the UAE will be able to present their app at the entrances of businesses in the EU like they do in Abu Dhabi, to gain entry to the premises.
The EU Digital Covid Certificate – the largest passport scheme in the world which came into force in July – works similarly to the Al Hosn app, possessing a QR code, proof of vaccination and any recent negative COVID-19 PCR test result.

This will make travel between ?? & ?? easier as certificates issued by the UAE are now equivalent to the #EUCovidCertificate.

Hard copy vaccine certificates issued in the UAE are already recognised in the EU.
It is the latest in major announcements for the Al Hosn app after the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) reduced the validity of the green pass from 30 days to 14 days on Sunday 5 December.
The measure means Abu Dhabi residents must take a COVID-19 PCR test every fortnight to maintain their green status and have the ability to enter businesses’ premises around the emirate.
