More people can now sit at restaurant tables, 300 for wedding gatherings in the UAE

Masks must be worn unless eating.

The UAE, including here in Abu Dhabi, has eased capacity restrictions related to coronavirus.

More people will now be allowed to sit together in restaurants and larger weddings will be allowed at hotels.

The announcement was made today, Sunday, on the The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) website and twitter account, with the new rules rolled out UAE wide.

The new rules will now allow 10 people to sit together in cafes and restaurants, but masks must be worn unless guests are eating.

NCEMA also pointed out that wedding halls and other events can operate at 60 per cent capacity, up to a maximum of 300 people.

Malls and shopping centres will also increase their capacity to 80 per cent.

Those attending live events and exhibitions must have received the full course of vaccinations. Those exempt from vaccinations will need to show that they have undergone PCR testing no less than 48 hours prior to the event, said NCEMA.
