Residents called to send in their images celebrating the country.
There’s less than 50 days until the UAE throws a mega shindig for its 50th anniversary and to get us into the party mood, the UAE’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations Committee has sent everyone an invite.
The initiative, titled 50 days to 50, calls upon residents to celebrate the place they call home by engaging in a number of activities and posting them on their social media channels, tagging @OfficialUAEND, until National Day on 2 December.
Activities can include visiting attractions, discovering hidden gems around the country, learning and singing the UAE’s national anthem and submitting photographs of different locations in the country that are meaningful to them; anything that shows the great pride we take in living in the UAE.
Speaking on the initiative Shaikha Al Ketbi said: “We cannot but acknowledge and admire the UAE’s achievements for the past 50 years, culminating towards an exceptional year.
“With over 200 nationalities living in the UAE, we invite everyone who calls the UAE home to celebrate by learning more about the traditions and rituals that make our nation, and participate in our daily activities in the lead up to the official National Day Ceremony.”
The Golden Jubilee Celebrations Committee is also calling on all government entities, private companies, schools and organisations to join in the party for the next 50 days.
Events to mark the landmark began back in April 2021 with residents invited to honour the ‘Early Dreamers’ in their families, and write ‘Letters to the Future’ about the progress they wish to see in the next 50 years to come.
