It’s official! The UAE has been ranked in the top three in the world for its extensive COVID-19 vaccination rollout.
Data compiled by Our World In Data, a research website affiliated with Oxford University, shows the UAE achieved the second-highest vaccination rate at 11.8 per 100 people.
Since the vaccination drive started in early December, more than 40 countries have started administering the vaccine.
Last week, the ‘Choose to Vaccinate’ campaign was launched in Abu Dhabi to encourage citizens and residents living in the emirate to opt for vaccination against Covid-19.
In a tweet by Abu Dhabi Media Office, Matar Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, said: “The most effective way to fight Covid-19 is with vaccines. I hope everyone chooses to vaccinate, to break the infection chain and be a part of victory against this pandemic.”
The vaccine is free of charge and is being administered at more than 100 locations across the emirate.
