Find out which routes are affected, when services may resume, and what passengers should do before heading to the airport

Recent geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have caused notable disruptions to international air travel, with several global airlines temporarily suspending services to and from Dubai.

While flight operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) have since resumed, travelers are advised to expect delays and check flight statuses before heading to the airport.

The disruptions began after regional airspace closures linked to heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, following Iran’s thwarted attack on a US military base in Qatar.

As a result, several airlines diverted or cancelled flights, impacting schedules and causing widespread delays.

Dubai Airports confirmed the resumption of full operations on Monday evening but urged passengers to remain vigilant.

Despite resumed airport operations, a number of international carriers continue to suspend or cancel services to Dubai:

Wizz Air has cancelled all flights to and from Dubai through June 30, citing evolving regional risks and airspace restrictions.

Singapore Airlines halted its daily Dubai flights until June 26, offering rebooking and refund options to affected passengers.

Air Canada suspended its direct Toronto–Dubai route from June 18, with services expected to remain on hold until at least August 4.

United Airlines paused flights between Newark and Dubai until July 3, pending further safety assessments.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has offered refunds or rebooking for passengers scheduled to fly to Dubai between June 19 and June 29.

With the security landscape remaining fluid, Dubai authorities continue to urge travelers to stay informed.

Passengers are encouraged to check with their airlines before travel and to monitor updates from Dubai Airports and relevant embassies.

The U.S. State Department has also issued a global caution, urging American citizens abroad to be vigilant, particularly in light of potential demonstrations or heightened risks in the region.

While normal operations are gradually resuming, the situation highlights how regional unrest can swiftly impact international hubs like Dubai.

Authorities remain committed to passenger safety and are closely monitoring developments.
