We all know the city of Dubai loves breaking records; think the dazzling Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall as towering examples.

But now Dubai International Airport (DXB) is set to raise the bar again and handle a record number of passengers in 2024.

This is following an impressive 8 per cent year-on-year increase in the first half of the year, as reported by Dubai Airports.

The world’s busiest airport for international traffic welcomed 44.9 million passengers in the first six months, driven by strong demand from key markets like India and a significant resurgence from China.

CEO Paul Griffiths expressed optimism for the remainder of the year, projecting a record-breaking 91.8 million passengers for 2024.

This surpasses the previous record of 89.1 million set in 2018 and indicates a strong recovery and growth trajectory for the airport.

Dubai’s appeal extends beyond its airport, drawing 17.15 million international overnight visitors in 2023.

The city’s allure includes massive infrastructure spending, favorable tax policies, and an open-door immigration approach, making it a top destination for tourists and expatriates alike.

With these positive trends, DXB is poised to maintain its status as a global aviation leader, reflecting Dubai’s dynamic and resilient economy.
