Free ice creams, special nol cards and more as part of Dubai Metro’s 15th anniversary

Rta Dubai Metro 15Th Anniversary

Dubai Metro is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a bunch of freebies, limited-edition souvenirs and more

Dubai Metro’s turning 15! And the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is all set with a bunch of special freebies, celebrations and more to mark the anniversary.

Under the theme ’15 Years on Track’, Dubai Metro marks several successful years of the driverless mass transit service that launched on 9 September 2009.

So what’s in store for commuters? A host of promotional and entertainment activities, for starters.

Highlights of the anniversary celebrations include Emirates Post issuing limited edition stamps for collectors, and the RTA unveiling a special edition Nol Card with a unique design by LEGO Middle East.

Additionally, exclusive Metro-themed souvenirs will also be offered by Al Jaber Gallery, so you definitely want to keep an eye out for those!

On 21 September 2024, LEGOLAND Dubai is also hosting a special event for ‘Metro Babies’, or children born on 9 September from 2009 to 2023. Parents can register their children through the RTA website.

What’s a celebration without some dessert though? IGLOO is offering limited edition ice creams shaped like the Dubai Metro, with 5,000 of these treats containing special codes for a chance to win one of 5,000 Nol Terhaal discount cards.

For the musical element, Dubai Metro stations will ring through with musical performances from 21-27 September. Part of the 4th Dubai Metro Music Festival, the annual event will feature both Emirati and international musicians.
