Heavy rain soaks Dubai: Orange Alert issued today

Dubai city rain weather

Authorities warn motorists and residents to stay safe as rain floods parts of Dubai

Parts of Dubai were drenched in heavy rain on Wednesday afternoon, causing waterlogged roads, traffic delays, and heightened concern from city authorities.

As videos spread across social media showing cars powering through flooded streets, officials issued urgent safety warnings for all road users.

The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued orange and yellow weather alerts, signaling continued unstable conditions across the region, with Dubai among the areas under the most serious advisory.

Motorists are advised to avoid driving through water-covered areas and to follow all road safety measures in place.

In a public advisory, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) urged drivers to reduce speed, maintain safe distance between vehicles, and stay updated through official communication channels.

While rain offers a welcome break from summer heat, it can also lead to sudden hazards. Authorities remind residents to avoid valleys, underpasses, and low-lying areas, which can quickly become dangerous in wet weather.

So far, no major accidents have been reported, but disruptions to traffic and public transport are likely to continue as the rain persists.

With forecasts indicating more rain into the evening, residents should exercise caution and stay connected to official sources for live updates.

Stay safe, Dubai.
