Federal employees will return to the office on 9 May.

Public sector workers will be looking forward to a nine-day break after the UAE Cabinet decided to extend the Eid Al-Fitr.

Having announced yesterday that the Eid celebration would fall on 29th of Ramadan and go through until 3rd of Shawwal, authorities revealed that they would increase the paid holiday to Friday 6 May with federal employees resuming duties on Monday 9 May.

The previous break which was announced on Thursday (21 April) was only until Wednesday 4 May.

Private sector workers’ holidays were also announced on Thursday with the dates for the holiday to be confirmed on the sighting of the crescent.
