EMIRATES, ETIHAD SIGN UNIFIED BOOKING SERVICE: You can now fly into Dubai and fly out from Abu Dhabi on a single ticket

Say goodbye to complicated ticketing and tedious check-ins when flying into Dubai and exiting from Abu Dhabi

Get ready for hassle-free UAE travels!

Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will make multi-emirate trips to the UAE a breeze.

Under the agreement, travellers can book a single ticket to land in either Abu Dhabi or Dubai, then jet off from the other airport.

With the new service, which will be available starting this summer, you can say goodbye to costly separate one-way tickets and annoying transfers – this single-ticket system is all about making your travel life easier.

Flying into one emirate and exiting from another was previously an expensive option as travellers had to book separate one-way tickets from either airline. Passengers also had to deal separately with both airlines for transfers, check-in and, of course, buying the tickets.

With the new service, visitors can plan a full itinerary involving multiple emirates and arrange to fly out at a more convenient airport in one transaction.

The ‘open jaw’ arrangement also means that travellers have access to ‘multi-city flights’ on both airlines, allowing them to book return tickets from any city on both carriers’ networks.

“We are pleased to be working again with Etihad Airways – this time to allow each carrier to offer a new range of seamless travel options in and out of the UAE,” said Sir Tim Clark.

“Emirates and Etihad are leveraging on our strengths to expand our respective customer offerings and boost UAE tourism. We believe this new agreement provides a strong foundation to develop further opportunities between both airlines and is an example of our commitment to the UAE’s vision for continued economic diversification.”

Neves describes the new agreement as a “win-win proposition” for visitors to the UAE.

“We’re delighted to partner with Emirates in our shared mission to support inbound tourism to the UAE and facilitate travel to our vibrant cities,” he said.

“With two world-class airlines supporting UAE tourism, our interline agreement will make it more convenient for our guests to experience the best of Abu Dhabi and Dubai on one single ticket while promising to deliver an exceptional flying experience whether they fly with Etihad Airways or Emirates. It’s a win-win proposition for travellers to the UAE.”
