Etihad Airlines to launch direct flights to Zanzibar

There will also be extra services to South Africa.

Fancy a cheeky getaway this November?

Well you’re in luck as Etihad Airways is launching a number of new flights to Africa.

Starting from 26 November, Abu Dhabians can catch a plane to the stunning island of Zanzibar after the airline announced it will begin direct flights to the popular island destination.

Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to the island with prices starting from AED 995 thanks Etihad’s promotional offering. Business class tickets can be purchased from AED 3,995.

A day earlier the Abu Dhabi based airline will add extra services to South Africa’s capital city Johannesburg and coastal city, Cape Town, on 25 November.

All flights to South Africa will operate via a connection in Johannesburg, departing three times a week.

Group Chief Executive of Etihad Airways, Tony Douglas said the airline was confident that all passengers will find the three destinations as incredible places to visit.

He said: “Johannesburg is an important route on our network and offers vital connectivity to and from the southern African region. On the southern coast, Cape Town is a breathtaking part of the world, with something to offer the most discerning traveller.

“Likewise, the beautiful island of Zanzibar will complement our network to the Maldives and Seychelles offering more choice for leisure travellers looking to enjoy the glorious Indian Ocean.”

By November, Etihad says it will be flying to 70 destinations across 47 countries.

We’re already packing.
