Etihad Rail moves onto news stage through the Hajar Mountains of Fujairah

It is expected to carry 36 million passengers per year by 2030.

Etihad Rail has released some stunning new images of the latest stage of the project.

The images published on Etihad Rail’s social media pages see the latest stretch of the line cutting through Fujairah’s mighty Hajar Mountains.

One of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken by the UAE, Etihad Rail will connect 11 of the country’s cities from the far west to the high north.

Expected to be worth over AED 200 billion to the UAE’s economy, it is projected that 36 million people will be using the service every year from 2030.

Passenger services will travel at speeds of up to 200km per hour and is expected to see the journey from Abu Dhabi to Dubai to only take 50 minutes.

 

 

More than 70 per cent of the track has been laid in the UAE and will eventually connect the GCC.
