Expo 2020 Dubai removes facemask requirement for visitors in outdoor areas

Those entering pavilions at Expo Dubai 2020 will still need to wear a facemask.

Facemasks are no longer mandatory for visitors at Expo 2020 Dubai’s outdoor areas it has been announced.

Organisers revealed on Sunday (27 February) confirmed that you can decide whether or not to wear your mask in outdoor public spaces.

However, organisers at Expo 2020 Dubai will encourage guests and staff to continue wearing facemasks outdoors as well as entertainment venues that are expected to draw large attendances.

Those entering any of the pavilions and venues indoors will need to continue wearing their facemasks.

Speaking to local media sources, a spokesperson for Expo 2020 Dubai said; “Health and safety remains a key priority, with stringent rules in place across the site.

“All Expo visitors aged 18 and above must show either proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test result taken within the previous 72 hours.”
