Expo 2020 Dubai sporting schedule has been confirmed

World class cycling, top quality facilities and even chess.

The world’s greatest show is about to kick-off in less than three weeks and if you’re a sports fan, we have got some news to give you a cheer.

Expo 2020 Dubai has released its schedule for a raft of sporting events that will have you running, jumping and cycling to catch a glimpse when the first whistle blows on Friday 1 October.

Stretch your legs with the Expo 2020 Run on 19 November where you can explore and discover the vast districts and stunning pavilions while getting the blood pumping.

Only running for fun? ‘Run the World’ races will be held every Saturday morning on the Expo’s Ghaf Avenue, with entry free for all runners with a ticket to Expo 2020.

More of a team player? Get involved at Expo 2020 Dubai’s Sports, Fitness and Wellbeing Hub where you can show off your skills with your mates on the multi-purpose court for basketball, volleyball, tennis and netball, two cricket nets, an indoor gym and fitness hall and a five-aside football pitch.

And for those looking to shed a few pounds, there will be a Global Fitness Stage for yoga, Zumba and CRANK classes, along with sports workshops, and events for people of determination.

If you’re more of an armchair sports fan then Expo 2020 will cater for all your needs too with 25 February 2022 seeing the globe’s top international cycling teams descend on the location for the Dubai stage of UCI World Tour.

Expo 2020 will also be very exciting for football fans of a certain vintage as legendary ballers of the beautiful game Davor Šuker, President of the Croatian Football Federation, Jay-Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu (former Nigerian internationals) will be making appearances at their countries’ respective pavilions.

Only a young pup? Current sports stars, Real Madrid and Croatian caption Luka Modrić and World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Anthony Joshua, will also be there to meet and greet fans.

And if that isn’t enough, the FIDE World Chess Championships as well as The Hamdan Bin Rashid Masters International Chess Championships will be checking in at Expo 2020 Dubai from Wednesday 24 November to Thursday 16 December.

Now that’s winning lineup if we say so ourselves.

Book your tickets for the Expo 2020 Dubai.
