The long Eid Al Adha break might be over, but we fortunately don’t have to wait long for the next long break!
The UAE government has confirmed the dates for the Islamic New Year holiday, and Sharjah is in for a treat.
The emirate has declared a four day holiday for public sector workers on the occasion of Hijri New Year, according to a statement by the Sharjah Government’s Department of Human Resources.

Islamic New Year falls on 19 July, or the first day of the month Muharram – the first of the Islamic lunar calendar. For government employees, the holidays begin on 20 July.
For the rest of the country, the official holidays begin a day later on 21 July, leading to a three-day break.
Work resumes on 24 July, Monday, for all.
