Full steam ahead for Etihad rail as stage two is completed ahead of time

The completed works extend to 139 kilometres.

Etihad Rail is ahead of schedule track after completing major construction work of the second stage of the nationwide project two months early.

The Etihad Rail network will connect vital areas across the country and is set to improve the UAE’s social and economic development through 1,200 kilometres of track.

An online meeting between chaired by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court and Chairman of Etihad Rail revealed that construction works for Package A of Stage Two, which extends over 139 km, and its connection through Al Ghuwaifat on the border of Saudi Arabia with Stage One, which extends for 264 km from Habshan to Al Ruwais were completed.

Officials noted that this was a significant step towards bringing the company closer to completing the UAE National Railway Network on schedule.

His Highness expressed his appreciation to the company and its team for their dedication, efforts and commitment to be able to achieve this important milestone in record time, completing it two months ahead of schedule.
