All you need to know about the Geminids Meteor Shower in UAE

Geminids Meteor Shower Uae

Love the skies? Watch them come alive with the special Geminids Meteor Shower due to fall in the UAE this week

A sky full of stars is heading towards UAE again, with the Geminids Meteor shower ready to dominate the skies.

With the UAE’s position in the northern hemisphere, these meteor showers are the best instances to make the most of the several camping and glamping spots across the Emirates for the best views of the sky.

For the Geminids Meteor shower, make sure you’re in a relatively dark place on the outskirts of the city on Thursday 14 December.

What makes these meteor showers different is while most originate from comets, the Geminids meteors come from an asteroid, so the shower appears blue.

NASA has often declared the Geminids one of the best and most reliable annual meteor showers, and you don’t even need any special viewing equipment.

Plus, you can look in any direction as meteors can generally be seen all over the sky.

If you’d like to make a day (or night) of it, head to Sharjah’s Mleiha Archaeological Centre for a special guided event.

Starting at 6pm on Thursday, the event will run early into Friday 15 December for the ultimate viewing experience. Simply book your tickets and settle in for a gorgeous viewing experience unlike any other!

Prices AED 275 for adults, AED 200 for kids. For bookings, call 06 802 1111
