Abu Dhabi to host Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship

 The tournament’s fifth edition will take place this September.

It’s great news for Jiu-Jitsu fans as the fifth edition of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship will be taking place at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena this month.

Pencilled in for 13 to 16 September, the tournament organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF) will see the best athletes across Asian descend on Abu Dhabi for four days of intense competition on the mat.

Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE and Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federations and Senior Vice-President of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation, said the hosting of the event was a major coup for the emirate.

They said: “Abu Dhabi hosting one of the largest tournaments on the Asian agenda confirms the emirate’s capability in organising large-scale events of world-class stature.

“The confidence from the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federations and other global organisations is a testament of our capabilities and capacity in hosting international events.”

The announcement is the latest in exciting news for enthusiasts of the ‘gentle art’ with the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship and the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship to be held from 28 October to 7 November and 14 to 19 November respectively.
