Kathy Urban brings her new tale to life at The Courtyard Playhouse

New book of dubai-based children’s author kathy urban

A magical morning of interactive storytelling, improv, and book signing awaits

The Courtyard Playhouse is thrilled to welcome back local children’s author Kathy Urban for a super special edition of Saturday Kid’s Storytime on Saturday, 27 September at 11am.

This event is celebrating the launch of her brand-new picture book, A Tree for Everyone, illustrated by Rosie Butcher.

This lively morning of fun will bring Kathy’s beloved tales to life on stage in a way that makes the children the stars of the show.

With their boundless imaginations guiding the adventure and creating the characters, the theatre’s fearless team of improvisers leaps into action; whether it’s building a spaceship, catching Santa, or battling a dragon.

The result is a whirlwind of laughter, creativity and unforgettable moments for the whole family.

After the performance, families are invited to join Kathy for a special book signing of A Tree for Everyone, a heartwarming story about friendship, teamwork, and the healing power of a meaningful apology.

“This story is one about friendship, old and new ones, of second chances and the healing power of a meaningful apology,” she says.

“Coming this autumn, when the oak tree will be changing colours once again – A Tree for Everyone. I can’t wait to share it with you.”

Kathy Urban is a children’s book writer and journalist who has reported on news, entertainment, and environmental stories for more than a decade.

Her debut children’s book, Hop Lola Hop, featured at the 2023 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature.
