If you’re planning to drive around Dubai this weekend, there’s some important news you’ll want to know.

Major road closures will be in effect due to the annual Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge taking place on Sunday, 23 February.

What roads will be affected?

On Sunday morning, expect significant road closures along some of the city’s busiest routes. The 92km race will impact several key streets:

Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nayan (D54): No access from 6:10am to 8:22am, affecting areas like Al Reem, Damac Hills, Mira, and Global Village.

Hessa Street: Closed between 6:10am and 9:50am, impacting Studio City, Motor City, Jumeirah Golf Estates, and Al Barsha.

Al Asayel Street: No access from 7am to 9:30am, which will affect Springs, Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Islands, and Meadows.

Saturday’s shorter races

The closures aren’t just on Sunday. Saturday will see road closures for the 35km and 12km races, specifically:

D54 Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nayan: No access towards and from Expo City Dubai from 6.15am to 9.30am. This will affect areas like Tilal Al Ghaf and Remraam.

The Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, celebrating its 15th edition, kicks off and finishes at Expo City Dubai.

The route features some of the most iconic spots in Dubai, including Global Village, the Dubai Autodrome, and the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

With major road closures in place, be sure to plan ahead for any travel this weekend. Whether you’re cycling in the race or just navigating around the city, stay informed to avoid delays!
