This is all part of a bigger push to make public transport easier, faster, and more connected
Good news for commuters!
If you’re tired of sitting in traffic between Dubai and Sharjah, there’s a brand-new public transport option coming your way.
Starting Friday, 2 May, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is rolling out Route 308, a direct bus service between Stadium Bus Station in Dubai and Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah; all for just AED 12 a ride.
This is all part of a bigger push to make public transport easier, faster, and more connected. And it’s not just about buses; the plan includes better links with the metro, tram, and even marine transport.

RTA is also tweaking a few other bus routes to give passengers a smoother experience:
Routes 66 and 67 will now stop at Al Ruwayah Farm
Route 32C between Al Jafiliya and Al Satwa is being retired; but no worries, you can hop on Route F27 instead
Route F12 is being rerouted via Kuwait Street, and will no longer go through the stretch between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park
Meanwhile over in Sharjah, the transport authority is already making eco-friendly moves; they launched 10 electric buses last September, serving routes to Dubai, Ajman, and the coastal town of Al Hamriyah.
So, whether you’re commuting for work or heading out for the weekend, the new Route 308 might just be your ticket to a stress-free (and affordable!) ride between the emirates.
