The RTA’s decision in coordination with Dubai Police came following a study that reviewed the number of entrances/exits, proximity of intersections, recurrence of traffic accidents, as well as recent improvements and developments in the area.
The signs indicating maximum legal speed in that part of Al Ittihad Street will be changed to 80 km/h instead of 100 km/h on Al Ittihad Street in the part located between the Emirate of Sharjah and Al Garhoud Bridge, and red lines will be added at the beginning of the speed reduction zone.
In addition to updating speed limits on several roads, the RTA has also undertaken road development projects, introduced fines and several other ventures to ensure cyclists, motorists and pedestrians are able to experience safe connectivity across the emirate.
