New UAE public holiday incoming

The work week is being reduced.

We all enjoyed the long four-day weekend to celebrate the UAE’s National Day 50th anniversary celebrations and we will not have to wait long for this next public holiday.

The UAE has announced that Sunday 2 January 2022 will be an official holiday therefore giving residents a three-day weekend to start the New Year.

The news comes after authorities announced that the UAE’s weekend would change to Saturday and Sunday.

The new measure will be implemented on January 1 2022 which also see work hours for federal Government employees decreased to four and half work days.

The decision to adapt the working week was taken to boost work/ life balance, improve productivity and bring the UAE in line with the global stock market which closes on Saturday and Sunday.
