Six Olympic clubs will be established in Abu Dhabi it has been announced.
Under a decree issued from His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, fencing, athletics, weightlifting, archery, water sports and tennis will be created to drive high performance for Emiratis.

HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the importance and roles of the new clubs will encourage, promote and develop the nation’s youth who wish to pursue the aforementioned Olympic sports.
It is expected the new sports clubs will also add to the development of Abu Dhabi as a sports destination.
The news follows hot on the heels of the capital of the UAE being designated as a Bike City.
The title recognises Abu Dhabi’s commitment to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)’s strategy, Cycling for All, which aims to promote cycling as a healthy and more sustainable means of transport.
Abu Dhabi joins the likes of Paris (France), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Glasgow (Scotland) in becoming a Bike City.
