The brand marks its Dubai Mall reopening today with a photography-led cultural project capturing the everyday rhythm of the city

PARTNER CONTENT: Palm Angels has officially reopened its Dubai Mall store today, marking the occasion with PALM CULTURE – JUMEIRAH RD, a photography-led project that shifts the focus away from product and toward the cultural texture, rhythm, and everyday life of Dubai.

The reopening is anchored in a return to the brand’s origins as a visual storytelling platform, first conceived through photography documenting subcultures in Venice Beach and the Los Angeles skate scene, where Palm Angels originally emerged before evolving into a global luxury streetwear house.

Now operating at the intersection of counterculture and contemporary luxury, Palm Angels is defined by its fusion of West Coast rebellion and Italian craftsmanship, expressed through bold graphics, unconventional silhouettes, and a fashion language that continues to influence global streetwear culture across ready-to-wear, footwear, accessories, and collaborations.

That visual philosophy is reactivated in Dubai through PALM CULTURE – JUMEIRAH RD, a new series created in collaboration with Omani photographer and creative director CHNDY, whose analogue-driven practice explores subcultures, identity, and environment through a raw, observational lens.

“This project felt really honest and a beautiful chance to reveal a side of Dubai that often goes undocumented,” CHNDY explains.

“The spaces, textures, and everyday details we pass by daily but rarely stop to notice. Reframing the palm tree felt instinctive; it’s both a grounding element of the region and a globally recognised symbol.”

His approach aligns closely with the brand’s foundational ethos of documentation and atmosphere, where imagery becomes a way of capturing feeling rather than perfection.

“Being commissioned by Palm Angels felt like a natural partnership,” he adds. “The brand’s roots in analogue photography closely mirror my own relationship with documentation; it’s always been less about perfection, and more about preserving a moment as it naturally exists.”

The project also sits within a wider global framework led by Bluestar Alliance, which oversees Palm Angels alongside a portfolio of international fashion and lifestyle brands.

Founded in 2007, Bluestar Alliance operates across major markets worldwide, developing brands through creative direction, strategic partnerships, and large-scale retail expansion.

With more than 600 licensees and a growing network of stores spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Bluestar Alliance continues to position its portfolio at the centre of contemporary consumer culture, including through its Bluestar Luxury Group division focused on the next generation of luxury brands.

Within this framework, the Dubai Mall reopening introduces a refreshed botanical-inspired store concept first seen in Milan, alongside the Spring/Summer 2026 collection presented in an immersive, texture-driven environment of layered surfaces, darker tones, and reflective design elements.

To mark the reopening today, Palm Angels also unveiled an exclusive Dubai capsule collection, reinterpreting local symbols such as the Palm Jumeirah through graphic distortion and spray-painted “Dubai” motifs, creating a tension between structure and spontaneity that mirrors the brand’s street culture DNA.

The reopening brings together regional creative communities for an in-store activation featuring music, culture, and limited-edition collectable postcards from the PALM CULTURE series, reinforcing a broader shift toward place-based storytelling and collaborative cultural production within contemporary fashion.
