The Pontiff will still be part of the discussion taking place surrounding climate change despite the cancellation of his Dubai trip
Those of you who were hoping to catch a glimpse of the Christian Pontiff at the COP28 conference in Dubai this week will be disappointed to note that Pope Francis has to cancel his Dubai trip due to fears over his illness.
The famed Pontiff has been suffering from flu for the past number of days but was advised by the Vatican’s Doctor not to make the trip. He was due to speak at the highly-anticipated conference taking place in Dubai this week.

“Pope Francis regretfully accepted the doctors’ request, and the trip has been canceled,” said Matteo Bruni, the Vatican spokesman.
The spokesperson did reveal, however, that Pope Francis would be absorbing all the talks and sessions taking place over the next 12 days and still wanted to be part of the discussion taking place surrounding climate change.
Thousands of people are expected to on Dubai this week for the COP28 conference, as the eyes of the world turn on the UAE for what has been described as one of the most important global events in modern times.
