Private sector employees should work remotely until the weekend advise authorities

There has been widespread flooding due to heavy rain.

All non-essential employees in private sector establishments in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah should work remotely on Thursday and Friday, says The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).

The announcement comes after heavy rain on Wednesday (27 July) evening in the emirates caused widespread flooding and in the interests of safety, the MoHRE is calling for private sector establishments to allow their employees to work from home until the weekend.

Should employees be asked to travel into the workplace, transportation between their office and residence must be counted as within their working hours on these days, the MoHRE said.

To date, the advice is only in place for Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah and not the entire UAE.
