It’s getting wintry in the UAE, with rainfall expected across Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the next few days

Time to get cosy indoors! Parts of the UAE are expecting rains over the weekend, with Dubai already having seen some showers.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), Abu Dhabi will also witness rains on Friday, settling the UAE capital in for the winter season in earnest.

The rains and general winter conditions were also felt in Ras Al Khaimah, with moderate showers in Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah and Fujairah.

Dark clouds were spotted across parts of Dubai, with Thursday witnessing some rainfall.

In a post on X (Twitter), the NCM warned of “a chance of convective cloud formation over some coastal and northern areas associated with rainfall and fresh wind with a speed of 40km/hr causing blowing dust and rough sea.”

The temperatures are expected to dip by two to four degrees by Sunday, with highs of 27°C reported in Dubai and 26°C in Abu Dhabi.
