On Thursday morning, heavy fog blanketed parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, prompting a weather warning from authorities.

Motorists were urged to exercise caution as police in both emirates announced speed limits had been temporarily reduced to 80kph on several major roads.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) warned that visibility would remain low across the emirates until at least 9am.

Dubai Police took to social media, advising drivers to remain alert and cautious due to the reduced visibility caused by fog.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Police issued updates on specific roads where speed limits had been lowered until the fog lifted later in the morning.
