Eligible residents are encouraged to seek booster dose.

Members of the public are being urged by authorities to undergo a PCR test before family visits and meeting the elderly.

The announcement made by The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said that regularly testing was vital in controlling the spread of COVID-19.

The official spokesperson of the MoHAP, Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi stressed the importance of avoiding handshakes and other forms of physical greetings, while continuing to wear masks and maintaining social distancing.

She also advised the public to rely on official sources for information on pandemic updates and to avoid rumours and false news.

Currently Abu Dhabi residents must undergo a PCR test every 14 days in order to maintain their green status on the Al Hosn app.

Federal Government employees must undergo PCR testing every seven days.

Residents who have received their second dose of Pfizer-BioNtech or Sputnik V more than six months ago are also encouraged to seek their booster shot.
