RTA’s new smart system delivers live data, faster fixes and smoother journeys

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is stepping up its game with a new smart digital platform called ‘Data Drive – Clear Guide.’

It’s basically a high-tech traffic brain that tracks and analyzes traffic flow, both real-time and over the past five years, across Dubai’s roads.

Think of it as your go-to system for everything related to road conditions, traffic patterns, congestion points, and more.

So, what’s the big deal?

Well, instead of relying on outdated methods like manually collecting info from field teams or waiting weeks for reports, this platform does all the heavy lifting instantly.

It gives authorities a live look at what’s happening on the roads, where traffic’s moving smoothly, where it’s getting jammed, and even where speeds suddenly drop. All of this means they can jump in and take action faster, making Dubai’s roads safer and smoother.

With access to five years of traffic data, the platform helps spot patterns, predict peak congestion times, and figure out what solutions actually work.

For example, if a road diversion is causing chaos, the system shows it in real time, so RTA teams can quickly make changes and minimize delays.

It even comes with advanced tools for digging into traffic trends over different days, weeks, or even seasons. Want to compare traffic this summer to last year’s? Easy. Need to see how effective a new traffic project has been? The platform’s got automated reports for that.

One of the coolest parts? There’s an interactive map that lets you zoom in on specific areas or streets using filters like average speed, traffic density, and travel time.

It’s super user-friendly and makes the data feel more alive and practical.

This move is all part of Dubai’s bigger vision to become the smartest city in the world; using AI and digital tools not just to cut down on congestion, but to lead in innovation and sustainability.

With platforms like ‘Data Drive – Clear Guide,’ RTA is building an integrated ecosystem of smart mobility, intelligent traffic management, and future-ready infrastructure.

Bottom line: getting stuck in traffic might soon be a thing of the past.
