It’s recommended to arrive early and familiarise yourself with road closures and transport options
The RTA has announced its schedule for services during the 2024-2025 New Year’s Eve celebrations in Dubai.
With 36 celebration locations across the city, including Global Village, Dubai Festival City Mall, Bluewaters, and The Beach at JBR, the Burj Khalifa fireworks remain the main highlight.
The Dubai Events Security Committee, in collaboration with the RTA, is overseeing crowd management and ensuring access to key venues.
For those attending, it’s recommended to arrive early, familiarise themselves with road closures and transport options, and take advantage of extended services for a smooth transition into 2025.
Dubai Metro Timings
- 31 December 2024: 5 am to 11.59 pm
- 1 January 2025: midnight to 11.59 pm
Dubai Tram Timings
- 31 December 2024: 6 am to 11.59 pm
- 1 January 2025: 12 midnight to 1 am (next day)
Public Buses (Dubai Bus)
- Route E100: Suspended from 31 December 2024 to 1 January 2025. Passengers should use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta to Abu Dhabi.
- Route E102: Suspended from 31 December 2024 to 1 January 2025. Passengers should use the same route from Ibn Battuta to Shabiya Musaffah.
For updated bus timings, passengers are encouraged to check the S’hail app.
Marine Transport:
- Water Taxi (Marina Mall – Bluewaters): 4 pm to midnight
- Dubai Ferry: Services on various routes, including Al Ghubaiba – Dubai Water Canal and Marina Mall – Bluewaters, at different times throughout the evening.
- Abras: Regular services from 11 am to 11.50 pm on routes such as Dubai Old Souq – Baniyas and Al Fahidi – Al Sabkha.
Public Parking
All public parking will be free on 1 January 2025, except for multi-storey parking. Paid parking resumes on 2 January 2025.
Road Closures
To accommodate the New Year’s celebrations and ensure public safety, several key roads in Downtown Dubai and surrounding areas will close from 4 pm on 31 December 2024:
- Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard
- Burj Khalifa Street
- Al Asayel Street
- Lower Financial Centre Road (upper deck closing at 9 pm)
- Al Mustaqbal Street
- Al Sukook Street (closed from 8 pm)
- Sheikh Zayed Road (gradual closures from 11 pm)
Expect heavy traffic around Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall due to the fireworks display, so arriving early is advised.
