More than 90 per cent of UAE is fully vaccinated.
Are looking to travel abroad for the festive season from the UAE?
Well, authorities have issued a plea urging citizens and residents to holiday at home in the UAE this National Day and festive season.
The call comes after the number of cases of Covid-19 in Europe continues to rocket as the continent enters deeper into its cold, winter months.
A government health spokesperson said travel was permitted but ill-advised due to the high rates of confirmed coronavirus cases.
Dr Farida Al Hosani took to Twitter saying the increase in infections abroad was due to poor vaccination rates and negligence in precautionary measures.
She also added that residents should stay inside the UAE and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Europe is experiencing a surge in cases with some countries like Austria entering a nationwide lockdown.
The UAE has one of the lowest numbers of confirmed active Covid-19 cases in the world with more than 90 per cent of the country being fully vaccinated.
More than 99 per cent of the country has received at least one dose.
