STORM ALERT: Severe weather set to sweep UAE this week, says National Centre of Meteorology

Storm Alert In The Uae

The UAE braces for rain, thunderstorms, and hail from 15 to 18 October, with fluctuating conditions

The UAE is on storm alert this week as fluctuating weather conditions, including rain, lightning, thunder, and hail, are forecast to sweep across parts of the country.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued warnings for adverse conditions from Tuesday, 15 October to Friday, 18 October, as a low-pressure system moves from the Arabian Sea toward Oman.

Residents in eastern and northern regions should expect the brunt of the storm first, with heavy cloud cover and convective clouds bringing varying rainfall.

The storm is predicted to spread across the interior and western areas later in the week, potentially impacting travel and outdoor activities.

Strong winds ranging from light to moderate are expected to blow from the southeast to northeast, with occasional bursts that could stir up dust and reduce visibility on the roads.

Motorists are advised to remain cautious during these periods of low visibility.

The NCM has also warned of rough sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

While seas will generally remain slight to moderate, they may turn choppy at times, posing a potential hazard for those heading out to sea.

Please take care and heed all warnings for the UAE authorities.
