Queen Elizabeth II: UAE announces a three-day mourning period

The Queen reigned for 70 years.

The UAE’s National News Agency has reported that the UAE has announced that flags in the public and private sectors and in the UAE’s embassies abroad will be flown at half-mast, as a three-day mourning period starts today, Friday 9 September, for the death of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The Court expressed its sincere condolences to King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Royal Family and to the friendly British people on the death of Queen Elizabeth.

 

 

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday September 8 at Balmoral in Scotland, which is one of the royal residences.

Married to Philip Mountbatten, Prince of Greece and Denmark, Her Majesty leaves behind four children; Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.

Queen Elizabeth II was Britain’s longest reigning monarch, reigning on the throne for 70 years. The Queen celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in February this year.
