Ramadan is set to begin on 1 March as moon sightings confirm the holy month’s arrival
As the UAE prepares for Ramadan 2025, the crescent moon sightings have confirmed that this sacred month will begin on Saturday 1 March 2025.
This significant date aligns with predictions by UAE astronomer Ibrahim Al Jarwan, who noted that the moon will be “born” on Friday 28 February 2025 at 7.33pm UAE time.

The Islamic calendar’s lunar cycle also confirmed that Sha’ban, the month before Ramadan, will begin on Friday 31January 2025, following the moon sighting on Thursday 30 January.
